Bar & Restaurant

The hotel boasts a 30 seat restaurant where the chef uses superb local produce including locally smoked salmon and locally raised beef to create an impressive range of dishes for the popular menu. We are very proud of our reputation and work hard to maintain it.

Here’s some recent feedback from our customers

“I ate at the Alexandra Hotel several times this year and every time was excellent. The food is great, home cooked and large portions. I love their fish and chips, lasagne and steak and ale pie. I also sent numerous people from the B&B I worked in there and every single person commented on the great food and great welcome. I often ate there alone and felt completely looked after and comfortable. All the staff are excellent in this family run hotel. Some great real ales too.”

“We stopped in the Alexandra for our mid-day meal and enjoyed a terrific pub lunch outside. Our choices proved to be great – lasagna and haddock and chips, in particular. The fish portion was huge so I was able to give everyone a taste. De-lish. Best fish and chips ever in the UK”

Lovely restaurant attached to this busy pub. You can eat in the bar but we proffered the restaurant. Large portions and well cooked food. Tasty starters and plenty of choice for main courses. Cannot review the puddings as we were too full!

Bar
The hotel also has a popular public bar, which has been completely renovated over the past year, which serves meals in comfortable surroundings. As well as serving a wide selection of local single malt whiskies, we have also started serving two real ales from the award winning Cairngorm Brewery -Trade Winds and their current special, Howler. This has already brought us recognition from CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.

“Just returned from a 3 night break at ‘The Alexandra’ and had an excellent time. Fiona and her team are so friendly and welcoming and cannot do enough for you. It is a cosy comfortable inn, with a small but busy bar with a mix of locals and visitors. Real ales from Cairngorm Brewery which my husband really enjoyed! Food is good quality ‘pub food’ and fish and chips were fantastic.”
