Lunch and Dinner at the Alexandra
The Alexandra has a 30 seat restaurant where the chef uses superb local produce including locally smoked salmon and locally raised beef, along with fresh fish for the coast to create an impressive range of dishes for our ever popular menu. We always have a daily specials board.
We are very proud of our reputation for providing a satisfying choice of meals to both guests and non-residents alike and work hard to maintain it.

I am a Real Ale and Malt Whisky fan and was impressed by the large selection at the Bar. The food was home cooked and excellent with a lot of variety with the food being locally sourced. The traditional Scottish breakfast included haggis (wonderful) which I have never had before, along with the bacon and bangers! I overate in the mornings so as to keep up with my dog (Beagle) on the hills. The town has quite a few restaurants but I was more than happy to eat at the Alex every evening as the food was probably the best pub food I've ever tasted.
We had the 8oz sirloin steak and the haddock and chips and I can honestly say that the meals were superb and very good value. We will definitely call in to say hello the next time we visit the Cairngorms National Park.
Nine of us had an excellent meal in the restaurant at the end of October on the last night of our holiday . The food was cooked to perfection and very good value for money [those who had steaks said they were cooked to perfection whether rare, medium/rare or medium]. There was a good range for all courses, including those for children. The service was unobtrusive but very attentive, the room inviting and quiet [even though the adjacent bar was doing a brisk trade]. Our only regret was that we did not find it sooner - roll on next year!
